I don’t understand why some people are doing politics by targeting the IITs and this time they have taken the worst decision ever to raise the fee to 2 LPA(only tution fee). According to the new system the course fee for 4 year UG programme would be close to 11 lacks*(including Hostel and other charges) and yes this is a Central Govt. Funded Institute.
In IIT’s most of the students are from middle class families and they can’t afford 11 lacks for the education that too after cracking the one of the most difficult entrance exam on earth.
Previously also Govt. have raised the fee to 90 KPA(again only tution fee) which in my sense is also very high for a govt. college. This is a way to deteriorate the quality of students go into the IIT’s and in a way will effect the whole society.
According to Times of India “IITians' contribution to economy is Rs 20 lakh crore” and every one rupee invested in an IIT has had an economic impact of Rs 15 and each IIT graduate create 100 new jobs in the country.
I think this is enough for those who want to debate on contribution of Tax payers money on IITs as in the end it will be an asset for the country not the liability.
Now after IITs they could target fee hike in NIT's and other Govt Colleges. The private colleges will also follow them as they have an excuse if IITs can raise the fee in-spite of Govt funded then why not private colleges. In the end it will impact the whole education system.
This simple fact is not understood by the current Govt. of India.

I would request the MHRD minister to please roll back the decision for Fee hike.
